Your residential trash is picked up on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays. The city trash pick up area is divided into three sections. Refer to our color coded Trash Pickup Guide to determine which day your trash will be picked up.

Alamo 1 has allowed every household to use one 32 gallon personal trash can in addition to a waste wheeler or 5 bags of leaves only.

If waste wheeler is missing or stolen customer needs to file a police report and give us the report # to give to Alamo 1 before they can replace their trash can.

Garbage Billing Rates

Commercial dumpsters are picked up on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Recycle will be picked up the fourth Thursday of the month. The customer will be responsible for providing a receptacle. Customers will need to call the City Office at 830-663-2804 in order to be placed on the Recycle List. Only one call is necessary to be put on the recycle list permanently.

PAPER:
Most types of paper, such as ad circulars, catalogs, carbonless paper, dry goods packing with liners removed (ex: cereal, pasta, rice, beer/soda cartons), envelopes, file folders, flattened cardboard, junk mail, magazines, newspapers, office paper, paperback books, paper bags, paper towel/toilet paper cores, phone books, non metallic gift wrap.

PLASTICS:
Labeled #1 through #7. Look for the recycling symbol on the bottom. Remove lids and rinse any remaining food or liquids from containers or trays. Example include: beverage bottle, shampoo and lotion bottles, meat trays, condiment bottles, prescription and medicine bottles, plastic grocery bags tied together into bundles.

GLASS BOTTLES AND JARS ALL COLORS:
Remove lids and rinse all food and liquids. Ex: beverage bottles, food and condiment bottles and jars (jelly, mustard, mayonnaise).

METAL CANS:
Aluminum, steel and tin beverage and food cans, rinse all food or liquids, aerosol cans, empty and remove nozzle, baking tins, rinse and remove remaining food.

Recycle Smart

The bundled brush will be picked up on each of the first three Thursdays of the month. Customers will need to call the City Office to be placed on the Brush List by Tuesday. Brush does not need to be tied, but the bundles must me in 5ft lengths and not weigh more than 50lbs. & the limbs/branches need to be neatly stacked facing in the same direction. The deadline to call for the brush is on Tuesdays.

Bulk pick up will occur twice a year; notices will be posted in your Utility bill, our local newspaper and on our web site.
